Ontario Lowers Age for AstraZeneca Vaccine to 40!

The best vaccine is the one you are offered first! If you are 40 years of age or older, you can now get your AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccination at local pharmacies in Oakville and across Halton Region.

Ontario changed its eligibility guidelines for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine as of today, April 19th 2021, so everyone age 40 and older can now receive it. Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization has confirmed the vaccine is safe for everyone in this age group and recommends everyone be vaccinated as soon as possible.

You can register for your vaccine appointment at any of the pharmacies listed below. (Click on the list to open a document with clickable links.)

I received my first dose at the Eighth Line Metro Pharmacy on April 6th - and you can see my experience getting the vaccine first hand here!

The AstraZeneca vaccine is safe to take and provides you a strong protection against COVID-19. Our Oakville-North Burlington MP Pam Damoff puts the risks of the AstraZeneca vaccine in perspective with some statistics about the low risks:

You can do your part to bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic by getting vaccinated as soon as possible. If you are over 40 years of age and not previously eligible, getting vaccinated will help keep you, your family and your community safe. Let's all work together to stop the spread and protect everyone!
