Jeff Knoll is one of Oakville's two longest-serving councillors, having been elected as the Town and Regional Councillor in 2000. He has more than twenty years of experience serving the Town of Oakville and the Region of Halton.
Since his first election in 2000, Councillor Knoll has proudly represented Oakville’s Ward 5. He is currently serving his sixth consecutive term in office, having won his election for Town and Regional Councillor in 2003, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018.
In addition to serving as a Town ad Regional Councillor, Jeff Knoll serves as the Halton Police Board Chair and Chair of the Oakville Public Library Board. He previously served as President of the Halton Community Housing Corporation for nearly 13 years.
During his time on council, Jeff has been a leader in implementing legislation and local bylaws to make Oakville and Halton a better place to live. His recent work includes work to mandate licensing for vape and e-cigarette stores, mitigating noise pollution from nearby Pearson International Airport and guiding affordable housing plans.
As a local entrepreneur and employer, Jeff is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Film.Ca Cinemas, Oakville's premier movie theatre and the only independent cinema in the Halton Region. The theatre has been a staple in the community, hosting events (including the Oakville Film Festival), donating to dozens of charitable organizations and being home to community services, including food donation, school supply and personal protective equipment drives.
Councillor Knoll has previously served on the boards of several local organizations, including Halton Health Care Services Corporation, Halton Children’s Aid Society and the Oakville & Milton Humane Society.
Outside of his council responsibilities, Jeff is also a member and active volunteer with the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre, where his wife Michelle serves as Executive Director.
Jeff has also been a member and leader in several community organizations through the years: he is a long-time member, former chairman and the current group sponsor of the 1st Trafalgar Scouts, a founding member and volunteer with the Trafalgar Township Historical Society, a member of the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar, Oakville Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 114.
Councillor Knoll lives with his wife Michelle in Oak Park. Their greatest joy is their family of five children and five grandchildren.
